Valencia Half Marathon and Valencia Marathon confirm the IAAF Gold Label for the second year
EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Half Marathon, organized by SD Correcaminos, and EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon, which also has the collaboration of the València City Council, have received for the second year the IAAF Gold Label (International Association of Athletics Federations), which positions both races held in the City of Running among the best races in the world, as happened in 2016, when these two races obtained the gold label for the first time.
In order to ratify these events, in the last edition both races met the requirements of maximum quality and excellence in the organization required by the governing body of world athletics.
Thus, València is consolidated as a national and international benchmark by having the maximum distinction of foot races in marathon or half marathon events. Only two more worldwide cities have this award in their two great races: Lisbon (Portugal) and Prague (Czech Republic).
The high level of the elite, the number of anti-doping controls, the authorization of circuits, the presence of hares or media covering the event, among other aspects, have been some of the demanding requirements evaluated by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
