The World Half Marathon Championships makes official the race start time in the City of Arts And Sciences

The IAAF board (International Association of Athletics Federations) in their last meeting approved the official start time of the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships, which will take place in València on the 24th March 2018.

The female elite start race, made up of the athletes selected by their respective countries, will be at 5.05 pm. These women will compete in the World Championship without interference of male athletes, as it is usual in these events.

Exactly 25 minutes later, at 5.30 pm, the men who struggle for the World Championship and represent their respective nations will start. Together with them will start the first flood of popular runners who are willing to enjoy this unique event in the City of Running.

There will be several popular runners according to the number of registered runners and the predicted records. All participants, slow or fast, will share circuit running after the stride of the most outstanding runners in the planet in a special fast track that has been created for the event, and has a start line and finish line in the City of Arts and Sciences.

The usual time schedule for the World Championship has been delayed taking into account the runners and the global impact of the event. It is our intention to gather favorable temperature and humidity, the greatest influx of public and special atmosphere, on spring days, to share an unforgettable experience in Valencia.
