The sponsors of the Valencia Half-Marathon and Marathon further enhance both trials

The sponsors of and collaborators in the 2018 Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon and Half-Marathon trials shared organisation of Spain’s two best races. They took stock of the results during their now traditional post-event meeting. There, they decided to strive even harder for growth in the future for both these IAAF Gold Label trials.

In 2018, the Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon, held by SD Correcaminos (running club) and Valencia City Council had a budget of €4.7 million. Of this, the trial’s sponsors contributed no less than €3.2 million — just over 68% of the budget, plus materials worth €180,000 . The race set a new record for the number of runners reaching the Finishing Line in Spain with over 19,240 athletes crossing the tape. Leul Gebrsilase ran the race in a sizzling 2 hours 04:31, putting the trial among the world’s Top Ten marathons.

The Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Half-Marathon was confirmed as the world’s fastest race over this distance with Kiptum’s time of 58:18 adding the Men’s World Record to the Women’s World Record already held by the trial. The event was organised by SD Correcaminos (running club), which had a budget of €1.5 million in 2018. Sponsors and collaborators contributed €1 million or 67% of the total to fund the biggest half-marathon ever. Products worth €70,000 were handed out to runners during the race.

All of the brands involved in the two races in Valencia — ‘The Running City’ — stated their intention of further boosting these two trials in 2019.

For the 2019 edition, the Valencia Marathon and Half-Marathon will feature Fundación Trinidad Alfonso as the main collaborator, the energy company EDP as the main sponsor, Luanvi as the technical brand, and Coca-Cola and CaixaBank as official brands. The trials will also feature Powerade, Serrano and Enervit (as sponsors), and Isaval and Vithas Hospital Nisa 9 de Octubre (hospital) as collaborators.[/vcr_note]
