All roads lead to Valencia Marathon

Six months from the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, the race organization has already deeply felt signs of expectation and excitement for the 2016 edition in the streets of Valencia. The marathon will celebrate its 36^th year in November, almost 40 years of hopes, dreams, hard work and determination that culminated in the explosive growth of the Valencian Marathon experienced since 2011. The Valencia Marathon is now recognized as one of the greatest running festivals and races in Europe.

The co-organizers of the event S.D. Correcaminos Athletics Club and the Valencian City Hall, alongside the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation as the main sponsor, are working intensely to make the marathon even better for runners and to further increase the ownership and love felt for the event by the Valencian citizens.

This week, Paco Borao, President of S.D. Correcaminos Athletics Club and Jose Puentes, Events Director for the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, are undertaking an audit of the city and the event to see how they can be further enhanced and optimized for November. 8,000 runners have already signed up for the Valencia Marathon with six months still to go until the 20^th of November. Current projections estimate that there could be as many as 20,000 runners. With this statistic and the year on year increase in registrations, it is clear that Valencia is known as La Ciudad Del Running for a reason. Nationally and Internationally Valencia has become a big player on the running calendar.

Of the 8,000 runners already registered, 5,800 are from Spain. Notwithstanding the 2016 edition is going to be even more international than previous years; runners from 58 nations have already paid for their place at the race.
