Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon has reached in a little more than a day over 1,000 registered runners

10 June, 2014

Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, organised by the City Council of Valencia and SD Correcaminos, achieves an overwhelming success just after opening registrations. Proof of that is the excellent acceptance of the event by marathoners, who within 37 hours completed the quota of 1,000 registrations with a promotional price of €35.

In previous years, the marathon reached its first 1,000 registered runners after several months of the opening of registrations. Specifically, the 2013 edition reached a thousand runners in April, and in 2012, this figure was reached in June.

Meanwhile, Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Half Marathon, also with the same promotional action, has sold out 600 runner numbers until now. Like the marathon, the start on selling registrations of the half marathon is more significant, because in February 2013, the event had just over 60 registered participants and until 17th June, the race did not exceed the figure of five hundred participants.

Having completed the promotion quota of 1,000 registrations in the marathon, the selling price will be of €40. And the half marathon, as it reaches the same number of registrations, will cost €20.

Regarding the profile of the registered runner in both races, it mainly highlights the presence of local runners, as they know the event and foresee the price rise and decide to participate as soon as they can in the race of their city. However, it is significant the presence of international runners, mainly from Belgium, UK, Italy and France, who choose Valencia as a marathon destination and make up 13% of the 1,000 current registered runners.
