Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon and Half Marathon awarded best race organizations by Royal Spanish Athletics Federation

Valencia continues to reap rewards for its hard work throughout 2015. The Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) selected Valencia Marathon and Valencia Half Marathon as the best race organizations of 2015. The winners are selected on an extensive scoring system that analyses every part of race events, this award alongside the sporting records broken in Valencia this year makes for the best year in Valencia running history. Through the RFEA scoring system, the Valencia Half marathon was recognized as the highest scoring race event in Spanish history; another record for Valencia.

The 21^st Spanish Athletics Gala brings together the best Spanish athletes, race organizers and actors. Valencia, with its two RFEA best race organization titles, will be one of the main protagonists at the event that will be celebrated in the Spanish Olympic Committee headquarters. Paco Borao, president of Correcaminos Athletics Club, will collect the award in the name of his club and in the name of the Valencian Government and the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation – fellow organizers of both events.

“For everybody at Correcaminos and the Valencian Government, it is an honor to receive two awards from the Spanish Athletics federation. These awards represent our effort alongside the Trinidad Alfonso foundation and all the people and entities that work every day for these races. We must now continue to work every day to make sure that Valencia, the marathon and the half marathon become even more well known around the world” Stated Paco Borao.

He added thanks to the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, “It’s has been many years that we have worked for the marathon and half marathon; every award, recognition and prize is special, but, to receive this award from the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, demonstrating that the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon and Half Marathon are the best organized races in Spain is something that is delightful and an honor.”
