The Breakfast Run, a preview on the eve of the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon

When two good things come together, it can only mean that the fruit of the two is better. Foot races have exponentially increased in recent years, and now, the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia maraton, organised by SD Correcaminos and the Valencian government, are bringing runners from all over the world together for a Breakfast Run before the marathon.

The Breakfast Run will bring close to 7,000 runners together to do a final training session, followed by a nutritious snack, before celebrating the best marathon in Spain on Sunday. This ultimate light-hearted test, open to eveyone, before the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia marathon, will take place on Saturday 14 on the 5K circuit in the Jardí del Túria and will join all the runners, whether they are participating in the marthon, the 10K, or if they are other runners in the city. The ultimate test for the legs just before Sunday’s event, starts at the 9 de octubre bridge at 9am and finishes at the Ángel Custodio bridge. After finishing the massive training session with runners who’ve come from every corner of the globe, snacks will be available for all of the participants to enjoy typical Valencian products

To sign up for this last practice run, and to enjoy the 5K circuit you have to formally register on the trial’s webpage (www.maratonvalencia.com). The activity costs €1 for anyone who wants to participate in the initiative. You can sign up for this activity and collect your dorsal bib (if they are still available) all day on Friday at the runner’s fair. You can also collect dorsal bibs at kilometer 0 of the Breakfast Run (9 de octubre bridge) on the day.

With this initiative Valencia is trying to join all of the particpants in the race with the local citizens through the Breakfast Run. In the same way as the other big marathons in the world, Valencia offers the opportunity for this last training session in an environment designed for running, the 5K circuit. Because running is important, but being able to continue also requires gathering strength, and what better way to do that than among champions while enjoying Valencian gastronomy, in a city that is pure running and with the best Mediterranean diet.
