The shops in the city centre will also run the Valencia Marathon

A whole city supporting the Valencia Marathon: runners, spectators and now also the shops in the city centre. The Association of Old Town Shopkeepers will join the initiative Valencia Shopping Run this year again and they will engage in several activities during the month of November.

These shops will run and take care of the runner. That is why they will offer discounts and promotions in their products on the on the days before the race, which will take place on the 20^th of November. Both regular customers and runners will enjoy this initiative in the City of Running.

Almost 40 shops in the city centre have decorated their windows with elements related to the Marathon so as to warm up for the 20^th of November. Their windows will be rated by the citizens, who can vote on the Association’s website, and by professionals. Together, they will choose the best decorated window.

Plaza Redonda will host a contest of traditional products – mainly food and accessories – all of them related to the world of running. ‘CRIS’s Workshop‘ will also be there to sell products made with the recycled canvas of last year’s marathon. All proceeds will be donated to CRIS, the rehabilitation and social integration centre of Velluters.

On Friday the 18^th of November, Plaza del Doctor Collado will host Live Craft Workshops and the pop-up shops will create the perfect atmosphere to discover the city centre once runners have picked up their bib number. The city centre will dress in the colours of the Marathon and runners will enjoy the activities we have prepared for them.
