Valencia’s 2017 Marathon and Half Marathon registrations sprinting ahead as the event planning enters the final straight

Summer is coming to an end and we will soon be on the home straight of the Half Marathon and the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP, given that there are less than two and three months to go, respectively for the 2017 events. Those registering are putting on a sprint and there are now almost 10,000 runners who have signed up and confirmed their participation in the Half Marathon. For the Marathon, the figure is 15,000. There will be no shortage of runners on the 19th of November.

The Valencia Marathon, held by SD Correcaminos in collaboration with Valencia City Council, has already signed up over 15,000 runners. Of these, 36% come from the Valencia region, 33% from other Spanish regions, and 31% from abroad. At the time of writing, runners represent no fewer than 75 nationalities in what is by far and away Spain’s best marathon.

The Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP is very close to passing 10,000 registered runners. Of these, 38% come from beyond the Valencia region to take part on the 22nd of October in The Running City.

The 2018 Valencia World Championship has passed the 2000-mark in runner registrations

Registration for 2017’s two best trials in the 21 km and 42 km categories gives all those taking part the right to a 10 Euro discount for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships Valencia 2018. This has helped boost registrations, which have already passed the 2,000-mark eight months before the event. This massive response will help turn Valencia into the world’s centre for elite and ordinary runners alike on the 24th of March 2018.

4,000 runners have already signed up for the 10 km Valencia Trinidad Alfonso run

The big percentage growth in those registering for the Valencia Running City events is also mirrored in the 10-kilometre Valencia Trinidad Alfonso trial, which is being held in parallel with the Marathon. There are now over 4,000 runners signed up for the 10 km — practically half of the limit of 8,500 runners for this event.
