A golden reward for the Valencia Marathon and its 10K: the medals!
For every runner, reaching a goal they had set themselves months ago and crossing the finish line is a memory that will last forever. That is why the organizers of the Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Marathon and the parallel 10K want to make that moment even more special. Hence, in the 2016 edition which will be held on the 20th of November all finishers of both races will receive a medal.
The tangible memory of a great marathon
Although the Marathon participants received a medal in previous editions, it will be more special this year since it will be the first long-distance race in Spain to be awarded a Gold Label by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It is therefore a landmark event in national athletics, which will write a new page in the running history together with the marathoners.
Three tones of bronze and four months of work by eight professional technicians were required in order to make thousands of medals with a gold matte finish manufactured by the Valencian company The Medal Company. The result is a top quality medal with an exclusive design made by industrial machinery specifically adapted for this purpose and cutting-edge information technology.
The 10,000 metre achievement on your neck
For the first time, Valencia 10K runners will also receive a medal. In 2016, the runners who have chosen to take part in this race on the 20th of November will not only be the first ones to run its new and improved course but they will also receive a medal for achieving the 10,000 metre goal which ends, together with the marathon, in the blue carpet of the City of Arts and Sciences.
The 36th Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Marathon and the parallel 10K are the big events in the road race calendar. That is why we have decided to provide all the runners who make them possible with a medal. Runners can also customize the medals with their name and the time they have done. This service can be booked beforehand through the official website, at the runner’s fair Expodeporte or in the marathon finish area on the 20th of November.
