In 2016 we run the marathon on the 20th of November

The Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, organized by SD Correcaminos and the Valencian Government, will be held on the 20^th of November in 2016. The race, as is usual, will be held on the third Sunday of November. We are bursting with excitement to see what next year’s marathon will bring. Will it be possible to see another national marathon record broken? This year’s edition (2015) was an epic thrill that finished with a Spanish Marathon record of 2:06:13.

The 2015 edition of the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon was the best ever. The event brought together 16,682 runners from 89 different countries. Of the total more than 4,200 runners were from outside of Spain, this meant that 25.5% of the runners gliding through the streets of Valencia made the effort to come to the Mediterranean and experience a winter marathon with blue skies, world-class organization (IAAF Silver Label Event) and a carnival atmosphere.

The actual total number of runners in Valencia was more than 16,682. The parallel 10K race had 8,500 runners that experienced the best of Valencia; La Ciudad Del Running. The participation of the 10K runners made for an incredible day on the 15^th of November; in total there were 25,000 runners.

The popularity of the Valencia Marathon has exploded over the last ten years. The Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, due to word of mouth and its excellent publicity, should carry on increasing in popularity meaning that 2016 will be bigger and better than its record breaking 2015 brother. The word is out; Running is not the same as running in Valencia.
