The Valencia Marathon donates 16.316 euros to ANAR

10 December, 2016

The Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Marathon wishes to praise the effort that runners have made while training and in the 42,195 metre race which has been awarded IAAF Road Race Gold Label.

For each and one of the participants who cross the finish line, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, the race’s main sponsor, and the organizers have decided to donate €1 to the charity chosen this year by the 36th edition of the Valencia Marathon, the Teens and Kids at Risk Foundation (ANAR). This association protects the rights of young people from Spain and Latin America. ANAR has an email and a free phone number for children to call when they are in need. The charity gives counselling, psychological help and legal guidance to young people at risk.

A total of 16.316 runners have taken part in the race and the Marathon will donate as many euros to ANAR as participants have crossed the finish line. In addition, the charity will also receive the contributions made voluntarily by the runners in their registration process (€3 each), as well as in the fund-raising parallel events Impuls-a València, Breakfast Run and the Valencia MAPFRE Mini Marathon.

The total donation made by the Valencia Marathon on behalf of all of the runners who have finished the race amounts to €16.316.

Thanks to them, besides the records of participation and finishers, the 2016 Valencia Marathon has broken yet another record, the amount of money donated to ANAR.
