The races run in Valencia Ciudad del Running are still the best in Spain

17 April, 2026

Valencia, Ciudad del Running, has once again been named the best place in the country for running. Once again this year, the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation’s awards for the best events of 2025, to be presented at the RFEA Gala in Oviedo, have crowned the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich, the Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich and the 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun with the distinction of being the best national races in their respective distances, as was the case in 2024 and previous years.

Mejores Carreras de España 2025

The Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich has earned yet another accolade as the best national race over the distance of 42.195 kilometres, an honour it has now won for more than ten consecutive years. In 2025, the race in Valencia, organised by SD Correcaminos, saw the fastest women’s time of 2025, as well as setting an impressive Spanish record for the number of finishers, with over 30,000 runners crossing the finish line, alongside a number of national records.

A half with a European record

For its part, the Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich saw a European record set at its last outing by Sweden’s Andreas Almgren, who achieved the most sensational result alongside Kenya’s Agnes Jebet Ngetich, who raced through the streets of Valencia, the Ciudad del Running, to clock the year’s fastest time and the third-fastest time in history, a spectacular 1:03:08.

The Valencia 10K: the home of fast times

And finally, the 10K Valencia Ibercaja by Kiprun is no slouch when it comes to its results, regularly seeing world, European and Spanish records set, as well as a large number of runners crossing the finish line. Organised by CA 10K Valencia, the January 2025 event, which was recognised at this awards ceremony, achieved spectacular results, including two continental records, 14 national records, and over 13,000 finishers in the Valencia 10K.
