Regulations 42K 2021
41st VALENCIA MARATHON TRINIDAD ALFONSO EDP 2021
Considering the current health situation, the Organization is interested in implementing all the measures that are in its power to guarantee that it is a safe test, so it would be its wish that everyone enrolled in the race proves that they are free of Covid -19 . Therefore, if the authorities allowed it, one or more of the following requirements would be required:
- Upload to the race registration platform, before 1 November 2021 and through their own means, an image of their vaccination certificate/passport (complete cycle) dated before 30 October.
- A negative PCR test or antigen test (taken at the participant’s expense), performed 72 hours before the race.
The organisers will announce the detailed requirements well in advance.
The organisers will prevent any athlete who does not meet these requirements from participating. That is, any athlete not presenting the certificate/passport/citation, and/or not duly accrediting the negative test at the time of picking up the bib. If these documents are not presented, the registration fee will not be refunded. If you test positive, you will not be allowed to race, but your entry fee will be refunded.
Under extraordinary circumstances, if the organisers receive notification from the Health Authorities that the race cannot be held with the initially planned number of participants, the organisers will carry out a draw to randomly select the participants until the new permitted number of participants has been reached, giving the rest the opportunity to recover 100% of their registration fee. However, the Organization reserves the right to cancel the race if the number of runners allowed by the authorities is substantially reduced compared to the one initially foreseen or conditions are imposed that make it unviable.
All registered runners who have transferred their bib to 2021 will be able to recover their money until 1st November 2021 by requesting a refund on the Valencia City of Running Self-management area .
Notifications: All communications to the runner will be made through the email provided by the participant at the time of registration, or in the email subsequently modified through the procedure enabled by the Organization for this purpose, in the case that has decided to modify it.
Likewise, all athletes expressly undertake to follow the instructions and restrictions imposed on them in agreement with the health management of the event. At the time of registration, a statement must be signed indicating knowledge of Covid-19 and, in addition, the data intended to guarantee the traceability of the participant must be filled in.
Anyone who does not follow these rules or does not consent to undergo Covid-19 screening will not be authorised to participate in the race.

The organisers reserve the right to establish further departure times, for reasons including safety, organisational need and/or logistics, among others. Under these circumstances, those concerned will be notified in sufficient time to ensure the proper organisation and preparation for the event.

Any runner arriving at km 25 after 12:45 p.m. on 5 December 2021 must compulsorily hand in their bib, abandon the race and/or get into the sweeper vehicle as they will exceed the projected time limit set by the organisers for the end of the race (the aforementioned 5h30 hours, already including the delay due to the waves).
All runners who register with the aim of finishing the marathon under 3h31:00 must provide proof of their previous best time in a marathon, half marathon or 10K in the last three years either through the procedure available on the registration website, or at the request of the organisers at a later date. In addition, the organisers reserve the right to request accreditation for runners who say they plan to run a time under 3h46:00.
Times and Boxes
Article 4: Box
The only data the organisers will take into account when making the classifications for a category will be those provided by the runner themselves on their registration form.
There will be 4 different starts in Plaça de la Marató. These will be ordered solely and exclusively based on the number and colour of the race bib, in accordance with the start time indicated in Article 3.
Due to the exceptional circumstances, and for organisational or safety reasons, and always in agreement with the athlete, the organisers reserve the right to change the box of a runner and also to close the process for changing from one box to another. The change will only be made as long as the capacity of the box allows it.
In order to accredit the starting box, we will verify the data collected at the time of your registration. Some are automatically verified by checking them against the results from our previous races (Valencia Marathon, Valencia Half Marathon or Valencia 10K Trinidad Alfonso). In other cases, we will ask you for additional information with a URL or link to an approved race in which you have participated in the last three years with an equivalent time (previous ranking in approved 10K, half marathon or marathon).

Registration and prices
Article 6: Registration
6.1 Maximum capacity and prices
The maximum capacity of 18,000 participants is already filled with the 2020 registrants who have decided to transfer their bibs to 2021.
However, in anticipation that the health requirements or participants freely dropping out and getting a refund will leave places available, a waiting list will be opened for new registrations at a single price of 120 euros*, subject to availability. Runners who register on it will be subject to the same Covid-19 requirements, and will have to prove they meet them, so the process of registrations will close on November 8, 2021.
(*) This price does not include the obligatory Day Licence (5 euros) for runners who do not have a valid national licence (RFEA), Valencian regional licence (FACV) or Carnet del Corredor Plus. Promotions offered by the event will be communicated to those interested and will not be cumulative.
In all cases, registration will close when the maximum capacity of 18.000 registered runners has been reached, thus guaranteeing a sustainable growth in the number of runners, a quality experience for the runners and the best possible safety conditions.
The organisers will set up a a waiting list via the official website to fill any vacancies that may arise due to runners dropping out of the race.
6.2 Registration for persons with disabilities:

FESA provides its criteria, knowledge and experience to ensure the correct grouping into the different categories.
Athletes who, for whatever reason, do not register through FESA, will not be classified in any of the four disabilities categories, nor will they receive a discount.
Blind or visually impaired (B2) athletes who so require, will have the right to be accompanied by a guide whose registration will be 100% free of charge and will be solely handled through FESA. There can only be one guide for each athlete with visual impairment.

Article 7: Changing title holder
7.1 Due to the exceptional circumstances, it will not be possible to change the bib holder for the 2021 event, in accordance with the organisation’s right to make modifications to this process, but runners will be able to request the cancellation and return of their bib until 1st November 2021, by making this request on the Valencia City of Running Self-management area.

In the event the organisers become aware of this circumstance prior to the race, the bib number that has been sold or transferred without authorisation will be disqualified, and the runner will not be able to take part in the race. In addition, and given the risk posed by runners who wear a bib without the knowledge of the organisers and the distortion produced in the rankings, the details of the person who gives or sells a bib will be recorded, their registration will be prevented for the following 4 years, and other marathon, half marathon and 10K organisers will be informed of their actions. In the case of athletes who are members of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) and the Valencian Community Athletics Federation, their conduct will also be reported so that, if appropriate, the corresponding measures can be taken.
7.3 The organisers reserve the right to prevent registration in the future and to inform other races of the fate of those athletes disqualified for not having completed the full 42,195 metres of the course. Likewise, the organisers reserve the right to take legal action against those who fail to comply with the provisions laid down in this regulation.
