Italy and The Netherlands, in love with Valencia’s half marathon

Along with pizza and great wine, Italy has also begun to increase its export of runners to international running events. At the Valencia Half Marathon there will be 300 Italian runners, a number that is likely to increase as we get nearer to the close of registration. The country with the most runners in Valencia after Italy is The Netherlands. The northern Europeans love running under the blue skies, 15-19 Cº temperatures, and of course, a city that is beautiful to run around and visit for a few days. In third place is the UK that already has 100 runners signed up to run in Valencia on the 3rd of October.

From Japan to Canada

The Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Half Marathon will have runners coming from countries as far away as China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and The Philippines.

North America and South America will be making up the numbers too with 50 runners. 13 runners are coming from the US and the rest will be coming from Canada, Bolivia, Mexico and Argentina.  On the 23rd of October at 09:00 The Port Avenue of Valencia will be full of excited runners brimming with color, energy, passion and a will to get their PB on the fastest Half Marathon track in the world.

The Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Half Marathon is one of the most recognized races in the world in recent years, The award of the IAAF Gold Label in 2015 and some of the fastest Half Marathon times in recent years has consolidated Valencia’s position at the top of the Half Marathon pile. This is the track where Abraham Cheroben finished in 58:43 (2014) and 59:10 in (2015). Valencia has a very fast and flat track, perfect running weather, elite athletes pushing for records, mass participation of the city, and an amazing international atmosphere; all these reasons truly make Valencia La Ciudad del Running.
