The Valencia Marathon beats its own record yet again with Sammy Kitwara’s time of 2:05:15

The Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon has taken another step on the path to becoming one of the world’s top trials with the victory of Sammy Kitwara. He won Spain’s best Marathon with a time of 2:05:15, setting a new record for the event, which is jointly held by SD Correcaminos [running club] and Valencia City Council.

The top athletes taking part in the Valencia Marathon put in a sizzling performance. Evans Kiplagat Chebet set a new fastest time for the Marathon in Spain at 2:05:30. Meanwhile, Deribe Robi Melka, who came in third among the men, ran the race in 2:06:38.

The women’s winner of the Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon was the Ethiopian runner Aberu Mekuria Zennebe, with a time of 2:26:17. The second woman in Valencia’s 37th Marathon was the Byelorussian athlete Volha Mazuronak with 2:27:14 and hot on her heels in third position was Winny Jepkorir with a time of 2:27:18.
