The EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon reduces the time limit in races

28 February, 2017

One of the novelties of this year 2017 in the EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon, organized by SD Correcaminos and the Valencia City Council, is the reduction of 6 hours to 5:30 hours in the time limit to complete the race.

Thus, the organization is seeking a profile of a more prepared and healthier runner to cross the mythical distance of Philippides, even losing inscriptions in the global census. In the process of registration, runners who have registered for the event on November, 19th could have already seen that the checkbox for the expected time has been limited to 5 hours and 30 minutes, instead of the six hours of the previous editions.

In addition to being a challenge, the fact of facing the 42,195m involves gathering a series of physical conditions that are acquired throughout a complete training plan where foot race is not the only aspect to take into account.

Thus, anyone who runs the 42.195 kilometers above 7:50 minutes on average per kilometer should pose shorter challenges to achieve a suitable physical condition to enjoy the Valencia Marathon in the coming years.

Finally, this measure will speed up cleaning work, disassembly of the event and opening of traffic on the main roads of the city, improving the coexistence of the event with the inhabitants in the main city of the Turia.
