Valencia Half Marathon and Valencia Marathon reach 8,500 and 13,500 registered runners by summer

The EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Half Marathon, organised by the Sport Society Correcaminos, and the EDP Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon, which adds the collaboration of Valencia City Council as organiser, start summer time and specific preparation of their runners with big figures in their registers, since the unique Gold Label half marathon of Spain has more than 8,500 enrolled runners, and the marathon has more than 13,500.

The Valencia half marathon, which will be held next 22nd October, is still a reference sport event in this distance at a national and international level, as shown by the 8,500 registered runners in these first days of July, 20% of these runners come from out of the Valencia Community. Moreover, 16% of the runners in the best half marathon of Spain will come to Valencia from abroad, counting 68 different nationalities in its list. The number of women who participate is raising and reaches 26% of runners.

In the case of the Valencia Marathon, its international projection has increased, and the 42 kilometres race in the city of running has become an event which foreign runners wish more and more each time. And this means that within the 13,500 runners registered up to now, 30% are foreigners. This percentage goes up to 32% in the case runners coming from the rest of Spain, being 38% Valencian runners.

The considered as best marathon of Spain because its perfect conditions to debut or improve one’s marks, makes more women participate each year, being now 16% of the runners.

In addition to the two road races with IAAF Gold Label, runners also begin to ensure their participation in the Valencia 10K Trinidad Alfonso, which is parallel to the marathon on 19th November, and has a limit of 8,500 registered runners. The race counts now with more than 3,000 runners enrolled in this event to live the same start and finish as the marathon runners, although without sharing the route. This 10K has 49% of women enrolled.
