Valencia Marathon runners will add the kilometres they have trained for a good cause

2 August, 2016

More than one million kilometres. That is the objective that Trinidad Alfonso EDP Valencia Marathon and Runator, a runner’s community, have set for all runners who take part in Valencia Marathon. Reaching that objective could make a difference for many children: for each runner who rises to the challenge, the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation will donate an extra Euro to the charity chosen for this year’s edition, which is the Teens and Kids at Risk Foundation (ANAR).

If you wish to become involved in this initiative, you just have to register through Runator’s webpage and sync the app or the GPS tracking watch that you usually use when running. Make sure you don’t forget them when you train! That way, all the kilometres you run when preparing for the 20th of November will be added to the same meter, which, in the end, will turn into a Marathon’s donation to ANAR if runners reach 1 million kilometres in their trainings.

Runners who take part in this initiative will receive their own custom number and they can share it on social networks with the hashtag #RetoMaratonValencia. That way, you can show your friends how much you’ve been training. and encourage them to get involved in the iniciative.

In addition, those who register a minimum of 500 kilometres and complete the Valencia Marathon on the 20th of November will have some privileges when they sign up for the 2017 edition.

What is Runator?

Runator is a meeting point for runners. It is an app that allows you to compare, follow and rank your circle of runners regardless the app they use for running.

Runator imports automatically the running activities from the most popuplar running apps, such as Nike+, Runkeeper, Runtastic, Garmin or Polar, and it creates a social environment where you can follow people you know or find similar runners in your city. Besides, it creates a unique runner profile aggregating information from several apps and facilitates the change to a GPS tracking watch or a different application. Running becomes a social activity with Runato and it is therefore ‘social running’.

With this new technology you can create races and events, and you can take part in any race from anywhere in the world only using an app or a GPS tracking watch.
